Client: Goodies
Goodies are an healthy children's food producer with a range of products in supermarkets and stores around the UK.
They wanted a website which would promote their products and the information they have built up about healthy eating for children and called on G2Blue, where I was senior developer, to build it for them.
Their technical constraints where that it had to easy for them to update themselves, read some stock information from an Access database they would update regularly by replacing the Access file with a new one, and be built in ASP so in-house IT staff who had some ASP knowledge could update the pages in the future if necessary. They also wanted a forum where they could interact with customers. As budget was tight, they agreed to us finding forum software that they could administer independently from the main administration section of the website.
For the Goodies website I built the following in ASP (server-side Javascript):
- Content Management System (CMS) for updating pages, including general content and specialised recipe and FAQ areas
- Stock display system based from provided Access file, with some suggested changes
- Form to e-mail contact for receiving feedback
- Search engine for the website
I also sourced several forum packages, installed them and assessed them for stability and usability with project designer, David Andrew.
